[ADMIN] How tags work on this blog.

  • 2011-08-01 MON, 9:01 AM PST
No new data, just renaming tags and inserting meta-labels.

  • 2011-08-01 MON, some god-awful early hour of the day, PST.
UPDATE: Okay, Yuzu and I have worked out new rules on tag usage. This should clear things up.

[ANNOUNCEMENT] Should be self-evident. Also includes news about stuff that is not admin related.

[ADMIN] A post that conveys information of an administrative nature about the blog/irc/mediafire account, as all are forms of communication/disseminating data.

[PENDING] When a release is still "in the works", hence pending more action by the members (e.g., QC, translate, distro).

[COMPLETED RELEASE] When a release is... well, completed. Don't know how much more I can say about that.

[RANT] Oh, you guys are gonna love this one.

~~

It seems that everyone is misunderstanding the tag. Tags are used to organize and categorize data. The [Release] tag means that a post has data that is related to a release/production of work and is not related another subject/category (e.g., admin, announcement, correction, rant, etc).

Morever, the _context_ of the post says it all -- this should be obvious to anyone who reads the post.

If you made an assumption by glancing at only the title and failed to read the rest of the post, then that's your choice. We really have no control over that.

[ADMIN] Production Protocol/Procedures

Dear fans,

Even though Aizome Scans is only a few days old, we've hit the ground running and we want to be transparent with our fans about production protocol and procedures.

Here's a timeline of how we operate:

Phase 1: Raw acquisition (pending availability)

Phase 2: Translation (1.0 ~ 1.5 days)

Phase 3: Cleaning (1.5 ~ 2.0 days)
-A: Text removal from bubbles and frames.
-B: Text removal from image overlays and image reconstruction
-C: Double-page spread image reconstruction
-D: Artifact removal and gradient leveling (if required).

Phase 4: Typeset (1.0 ~ 2.0 days)
-A: In-bubble and in-frame text placement
-B: Out-frame and SFX text placement
-C: Title page text placement

Phase 5: QC (2.0 ~ 3.0 days)

Phase 6: Archive creation and distribution (0.50 days)
-A: Mediafire upload
-B: IRC channel upload

TOTAL TIME FROM RAW ACQUISITION: 6.0 ~ 9.0 days

NOTE: We will have regular updates; if we deviate from this schedule, we'll post something to let you know.
