[ADMIN] How tags work on this blog.

  • 2011-08-01 MON, 9:01 AM PST
No new data, just renaming tags and inserting meta-labels.

  • 2011-08-01 MON, some god-awful early hour of the day, PST.
UPDATE: Okay, Yuzu and I have worked out new rules on tag usage. This should clear things up.

[ANNOUNCEMENT] Should be self-evident. Also includes news about stuff that is not admin related.

[ADMIN] A post that conveys information of an administrative nature about the blog/irc/mediafire account, as all are forms of communication/disseminating data.

[PENDING] When a release is still "in the works", hence pending more action by the members (e.g., QC, translate, distro).

[COMPLETED RELEASE] When a release is... well, completed. Don't know how much more I can say about that.

[RANT] Oh, you guys are gonna love this one.

~~

It seems that everyone is misunderstanding the tag. Tags are used to organize and categorize data. The [Release] tag means that a post has data that is related to a release/production of work and is not related another subject/category (e.g., admin, announcement, correction, rant, etc).

Morever, the _context_ of the post says it all -- this should be obvious to anyone who reads the post.

If you made an assumption by glancing at only the title and failed to read the rest of the post, then that's your choice. We really have no control over that.

  1. Bro, even if the readers do make that mistake, dont you think that phrasing it that way may be a little rude to them?

  2. I understood it after I read the title, but if you can make tags it would probably be helpful to make a [STATUS] tag.

Then you wouldn't have to listen to, as much, whining... hopefully

Zeth, most of the people who have been whining on this channel have done so out of pettiness and selfish entitlement. They want something free -- they're not working for it -- and they want it _their_ way or else. And they've been very rude and vocal about it.

If they think that they are entitled to speak their mind, say hurtful things and lob baseless accusations on our blog, our channel, our house, then I -- at the very LEAST -- have the right to be stern and strict with them.

And if they mistake my no-nonsense attitude as rudeness, then I have no idea how they would rate their _own_ inflammatory comments. I've seen enough in the comments of the past 5 days that make me question the moral fiber and worthiness of some of the posters here.

  4. Personally, I'm with Doku^2 Shinsha on this one. If people don't have the time to read the entire post before assuming something, then it's entirely their fault for getting hyped up for nothing.

I hoped for the possibility of the next chapter release when I saw the posting, but I made sure to read the entire post, and bam. I knew the facts. I moved on. Makes me wonder why everyone doesn't do it.

  5. suggest for no "pending" tag as some people may watch over RSS feed.

or may be a sticky thread for pending?

  6. Holy crap u made a huge mistake and now u are blamming others XD

    The last post was:
    [RELEASE] MGX (Mysterious Girlfriend X) -- Ch.59

    And now is:
    [PENDING] MGX (Mysterious Girlfriend X) -- Ch.59

just say: "sorry will fix it" and thats all

u dont have to make so much fuss/rules/blablabla for it, also it only drags u in that stupid "drama war" that many trolls want to see

well nvm i wish u good luck with ur proyects

    >Holy crap u made a huge mistake and now
    >are blamming others XD

Hahaha! I wish I could be "blamming" others, that'd be awesome.

*Points the ban-hammer at someone* Out, biyotch! *BLAM*

No, I didn't make a mistake (definitely not a HUGE mistake, which might entail something like accidentally changing the website's URL to sankakucomplex or meatspin :P) -- other people made an incorrect assumption and then got angry because their assumption turned out to be wrong. Think about it: they see a title of a post for like, half a second, and they automatically assume "Oh, there's a release!" So it takes them another half-second to click on the link, but they don't see the link to the candy/freebie that they expect to be entitled to.

They take another 2 seconds to read the meat of the post and realize that there is a sensible explanation: here are rules, this is how we do it, etc.

Altogether, it's taken 5-10 seconds of their time. No harm done, time to move on with their day.

But, it wasn't what they expected. And because they feel entitled to get what they want, the lack of that makes them angry. Like a strange Pavlovian inverse response that makes them really mad. Angry enough to spend another 2-3 minutes to post a petty complaint about it.

So, in summary, they've taken a swing at their providers. Tried to bite the hand that feeds them, in a way. And that kind of behavior should be positively acknowledged and forgiven?

    >just say: "sorry will fix it" and thats all

Hah! Nope, not gonna happen. ^_^ Not rolling over to satisfy the petty and insignificant demands of a few petty and small-minded individuals who are trying to screw it up for everyone.

I'd like to say that I have a lot of respect for most (at least 51%, statistically) of our readers. Their support and readership is important and we thank them for that. It helps us in our efforts. Thankfully, that population of the quiet masses is quite large compared to the small handful of trolls. And we know that as long as our product continues to be good, then those important readers will be satisfied.

    >well nvm i wish u good luck with ur proyects

    Thanks for your support.

That's a good suggestion about sticky tags! We're looking into it. Gotta figure out how the mechanism works n' all.

    Thanks.

  9. I'm with you Doku. Keep up the good work.

  10. Doku, all this "interaction" with the trolls really isn't working out. They may be saying those things now, after only listening one side of the story. But. Come the end of the month, the trolls will come. They will download, they will read, they may or may not say thank you, but that's okay.

This whole "I'm loyal to the other group so fuck you guys, I'm gonna be a dick and call you out on every mistake y'alls make" argument is ridiculous. You should know better.

Also, all this over MGX? I believe MGX is a fine series, but it's not like we're talking about Mizuki Kawashita's newest series (Still mad at WSJ for cancelling Anedoki... FUCK YOU WSJ!).

  11. Also, I actually read the credits pages and small updates Yuzu would drop. And I could see that Yuzuyaro was not responsible TKtranslate's delays. I know RL gets in the way, but it wouldn't have been too hard for kak to say "Hey Yuzu (or any other editor), I got some shit that's gonna keep me busy for a while, so could you guys give me a hand with the typesetting this time?". Just by looking at the Amagami scans, you could tell that Yuzu is a more than capable editor.

  12. Wow a whole lot of things were said through comments and I'm even surprised I read them xD

Anyway, I know how hard it is to scanlate for free and sure as hell I'd recommend you guys to go pro (lol. But hey it's for money $.$)

It's fun to read flame comments but you guys shouldn't be bothered by it (unless it's actually fun to correct the troll comments xD). Still, nice work with MGX! And good luck with your other special projects~ aabangan ko yan ah xD
